Weekend Update

It was a beautiful weekend in Charleston. On Saturday, we took the boys to see Auburn play College of Charleston in baseball. Auburn won and the boys were good - the blowpops helped them sit still.

We still have those blowpops wrapped in ziploc bags that I plan to throw away very soon. Talk about teeth rot!

Then, on Sunday we met G-Daddy and Dawa at Hall's Chophouse for Sunday brunch. They were down here living it up at the Charleston Food & Wine Festival. The brunch was fantastic but I have to admit that I got a little nervous taking 3 little boys (2 excitable little boys and 1 baby) into such a fine restaurant but they did pretty well. Banks left his mark on the table cloth - literally - he colored the table cloth with his crayons. Sometimes coloring on the paper can be just as hard as coloring inside the lines.

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a great Thanksgiving down at the creekhouse with my family. The weather was perfect and there was a ton of food. The boys thoroughly enjoyed all the attention especially from Anna Banks, Emma & Bryce not to mention the extra boy to play with (Lucius).

Banks and Collins ready for The Iron Bowl.

My boys

Gotta love that sweet face

Our babysitter Anna Banks - she was a huge help on Friday and Saturday!

Emma and Banks horsing around.

Of course, you can't not go shopping on Black Friday if you're with Becky soooooooo we left the creekhouse at 2:45am - yes, you read that correctly. Michele, mom and I left the creekhouse at 2:45am to get to Target at 3:30am. We weren't even close to being the first ones in line. Target didn't open until 4am and we probably had at least 300-400 people in front of us. I figured since I was up nursing anyway I might as well jump in the car. Now, this was Collins first Black Friday shopping trip (and probably the last) but he did great. Somehow being so far back in the line did not stop Becky from snagging one of the 46 inch tv's that Target had advertised. Mom can always find the deal!!! I got most of my Santa shopping done. We hit Toys'r Us afterwards and then had to fuel up at IHOP. After that it was about 10am and I was toast. Collins and I came back to the creekhouse to catch some naps before The Iron Bowl. Mom and Michele hit a few more stores.

And, what a way to end a Black Friday but with your team winning The Iron Bowl!!!! We had a great time watching it on the porch on the new tv down at the creekhouse. It is truly an experience to watch an Auburn game with Bull (Little Bill) not to mention the roller coaster the game was. We were all smiles the 2nd half and lots of celebration ensued after the clock ticked down.

It was a great weekend spent with family.

Auburn vs. Miss St.

I took the boys to the Auburn vs. Miss State game. And when I say "I took", by that I mean, I got in my parents' RV and rode the entire 6 hours watching Little Einsteins while in a recliner, feeding the boys snacks while they lay on the back bed, tailgating with friends and family all day who entertained my children and then taking them to a babysitter so I could go to the football game. It was a night game so don't feel bad for my boys. They were exhausted and wouldn't have made it through the first quarter (especially considering Auburn is on Central time and we run on Eastern). I have a great friend in Auburn, Joanna, who is so nice to let us stay with her every football season. Joanna and Dave have a son, Prather, who is Banks' age and all the boys play so well together. She has a babysitter for every home game lined up so it worked perfectly for me.

My parents' new addition to their tailgate paraphenalia - a huge Aubie! The boys loved it!

Prather and Banks having a photo op with Aubie.

Hughes - Future Tiger (Auburn or Clemson?)

Game Day - We decided that Hughes was big enough to move out of the jonjons and into the jerseys this season. Banks is still sporting the War Eagle jonjon and looking mighty cute!

On a side note, when I got home after the game and was sneaking in my bedroom b/c I didn't want to wake the boys, I heard Hughes say, "mama" very softly. I told him that I was right there and to go back to sleep. He repeated "mama" but this time louder. Again, I told him to go back to sleep. And then Banks chimed in "mama". Anyone who has met Banks knows that he is no quiet child. He's loud. So, again I told the boys that I was right there and to lay back down and go to sleep. A few quiet seconds passed. I take a deep breath. Hughes says, "Banks get out of my bed". Huh? I opened the bedroom door to cast some light into our bedroom and there are both my boys in the pac'n play together! I'm not sure if Hughes' climbed in after the sitter put him to bed or if the sitter put them both in the pac'n play together. All I know is that both my boys were in there together. How they ever feel asleep in the first place is beyond me? Hughes has a toddler-sized air mattress that we travel with and has never had any problem sleeping on it.

RV Madness

Here are a few pics of David entertaining Banks.  You gotta love the swim diaper on the head.  That entertained him for at least 10 minutes.  Then, David decided to start working on Banks' throwing arm - gotta get him ready to take Cody Burns' spot!

War Eagle!

On Friday, me and the boys piddled around Auburn.  We had to stop for the photo op with the two tigers.  Hughes was a little scared at first but after he touched them he realized they weren't real.  We visited with the tigers for about 45 minutes.

Football and Cheerleaders

While tailgating with our friends, Hughes decided he was going to join a game a touch football with the older boys (3rd graders) who tailgate with us.  He was soooooo cute - he grabbed his football and mimicked everything Trey(boys with sunglasses) did.  I loved it and he loved it, too!  He did the hiking position, the falling down, the running around.  It was just perfect.

Banks, on the other hand, decided he was going to hang with the mini-cheerleaders at our tailgate.

And, of course, while walking around visiting with friends I had to get the boys' pictures taken with the some of the AU cheerleaders and majorette.  One day they'll appreciate this even though at the time it was not.

Auburn vs. LSU

I took the boys to the Auburn/LSU game last weekend with my parents.  We had a blast even though Auburn lost.  I think Hughes and Banks enjoy the tailgating experience.  They did great on the 5 hour trip thanks to their new portable DVD player - those things are sweet!

While David was in Atlanta for a conference, I went to Birmingham with the boys to visit my college roommate, Kate.  Kate has two boys (Jake and Parker) the same age as my boys.  While I was there another roommate, Callie, came up.  Along with another roommate, Leslie, and her two children(Mac and Ann Ellison).  And, of course, one more friend, Joanna, came up with her son, Prather.  It was a busy and loud day but it was lots of fun.  It was so much fun getting to hang out with everyone again even if it was only for a day.
